What we are looking for:
Due to a growth in project demand we are now looking for an additional permanent Interaction/ UX Designer.
You will be responsible for leading user-centred design across a number of complex digital services projects, combining hands-on Interaction design, along with offering design assurance, specialist advice and related stakeholder engagement.
Day to day that will include but not be limited to the following:
Leading UX and Interaction design from initial discovery phases through to live services
Manage the translation of business needs and user research via journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and UI design.
Design Inclusive, Accessible and responsive digital experiences
Working within Agile methodology interact with Multidisciplinary teams interfacing closely with researchers, Product Managers, Content/ Service designers and Delivery Leads/ Managers
Facilitate workshops, design and collaborative problem solving
Use prototypes and usability evidence to test and iterate solutions.
Apply and contribute to design systems and reusable patterns.
Provide specialist design advice and assure the quality of other designers' work.
Skills required to successfully apply for the role:
Significant professional UX / interaction design experience.
Experience delivering complex digital services/ products preferably working on Government/ Public sector projects with a core understanding around GDS framework
Strong user-centred and interaction design
Advanced prototyping and design capability.
Strong understanding of accessibility
Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
Strong stakeholder interaction skills
Experience with design systems and tools such as Figma.
Provide specialist UX and interaction design advice.
Take ownership of complex design problems and outcomes.
Lead design workstreams and provide design assurance.
Ability to apply judgement where requirements and constraints are complex or ambiguous.
Understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
